Cookie and storage details
This page describes how Effitrio uses browser storage and optional analytics. Your choices in the cookie banner only affect analytics. Required storage for running the app continues regardless.
Necessary (browser storage)
What we use: We rely on browser storage — primarily local storage and, where applicable, session storage — to hold data your browser needs to run the service.
Typical contents: Authentication tokens (access and refresh), basic account information cached after login, your cookie-consent choice, and similar values needed for security, session continuity, and core preferences (for example dismissed onboarding or locally cached form drafts where the product uses them).
Why it is needed: Without this storage, we cannot keep you signed in securely, apply your preferences, or operate core features. It is not used for advertising and is separate from optional product analytics.
If you decline optional analytics in the banner, this necessary storage still applies — declining only disables optional analytics processing described below.
Analytics (tracking)
What we use: When you accept analytics, we use PostHog on this product only. PostHog may use first-party cookies and/or local storage as part of its SDK to distinguish sessions and deliver events. Event data can include page views, anonymised or pseudonymous usage patterns, performance signals (such as web vitals where enabled), and similar product analytics — as configured in our integration.
Why we use it: To understand how the product is used, diagnose performance issues, and prioritise improvements. We do not use this for third-party advertising or sell your personal data through PostHog.
Default (before you choose): Analytics is off — no PostHog events or tracking cookies are sent until you press Accept in the cookie banner.
If you reject analytics: We keep PostHog disabled (opt-out). Necessary browser storage for login and operation continues as above.
